New------ (updated April 2017) Still provided are some organ performances (by C. Ragsdale); mostly Classical and Baroque music. Please select the Other Music page for these performances. Permissions have been secured. More book titles have been added for this website release. How To Use This Site------ Select a page by clicking on the table to the left. Each page is identified by a type of music. All that is necessary to play a file is to single click on PC or Mac (depending on your platform) after the name of the piece of music. The file should then play on your computer. Sometimes it will just download, and you must click a play button. Caveats------ Either use a good quality speaker system or quality headphones to get the best audio from these files. Please be advised that the files are compressed about 10:1 from the original CD. However, the sound quality seems sufficiently preserved.
You will note that most of the audio files are for the PC (files are .wma). The Mac files are .m4a. Due to the limitation of audio file space in the website application, I have been forced to limit the number of files. If your Mac cannot play .wma files, there are free applications available online. Flip4Mac for OS X seems to me as quite good. I make no warranty or take no responsibility for what the installation of such software applications might do on your computer.
Likewise, I make no warranty or take no responsibility for any problems that might arise playing audio files or otherwise interacting with my website. However, I do use a reputable web hoster and have purchased a license to Site Lock. Unfortunately, we have not yet been able to get the certificate to properly display.
You may play or download any works provided on this website for your personal use only. You are, if you wish, allowed to transport the file to an mp3 player (again for your own personal use). You should not send copies of these files to others; likewise, please do not re-publish these files; just send anyone interested to this website. Otherwise, the works are under the full force of copyright protection.
Ordering A CD------ Also, since only samples from various CDs are provided on this website, it is possible that someone may wish to hear more. If you would like a CD-R which includes more than the musical numbers selected for this website, please send me an email at charles@corticalfandango.com indicating your interest (also include the titles of the collections in which you are interested). Please realize that these CDs do not come with fancy graphics or inserts. They are just CD-Rs in a plastic case with a black-and-white label listing the musical selections. However, the tracks are uncompressed and so should provide a higher fidelity than that available from the website. A nominal fee to cover production costs, shipping, etc. will be involved in procuring a CD.
