The composition of these pieces began with a practical motive. As a church organist with little practice time, I was always in need of new music. I started writing pieces I could play with little practice and that seemed appropriate for the liturgy involved. Since every church service usually required a prelude, an offertory, and a postlude, I collected the works to cover one month in each book. These are all performed by Charles Ragsdale using two different electronic organs; one of the electronic organs has more extensive capabilities than the other. Following are the titles:
